We all have them. Each person can do something which enhances their life. Take an inventory of your own skills and talents. Think long and hard if you have to. They are there I promise. You might be surprised what you find.

It is like the argument that the kid makes to his dad when he can’t climb the tree. Dad says, “Use your muscles.” The kid says, “I just don’t have any muscles.”

Of course he has muscles. They might not be developed enough to give him the strength to climb the tree but he has them. Same goes for our skills and talents. The problem lies in the fact that they haven’t had time to grow.

There are several inventories on the market used to assess our talents. After answering a series of questions, the person has a picture of what area their talents lay in. Maybe you have artistic capabilities or are good at organization. It never fails though; we don’t often get the talents we think we should have. Don’t let that detour you.

There is a link between satisfaction and talent. For instance, if a person’s talents tend towards the creative, but they are working as an accountant, their life may not be as fulfilling as it could be. We are not playing to our strengths.

Start with childhood. What did you like to do? It might pertain to drawing, singing, playing a sport, or something totally different. Why does it matter?

Our skills are learned. We learn to ride a bike. We learn to sew. The talent comes in when we have the natural inclination towards something. If you are good with your hands, then once you learned to sew, you could create masterpieces like wedding dresses, a clothing line, and etcetera. That talent was nurtured and practiced until it flourished.

We are happier doing the things that we can do. Talent and passions that are encouraged leads to a certain satisfaction in life. You don’t have to play basketball in the NBA or be the next Vera Wang, but using that talent in some way each day fulfills a deep need inside every one of us. You could be an accountant by day and a sketch artist after hours.

The feeling that comes when our God-given abilities are allowed out to breathe is priceless. It shapes us and those around us. You may not work at your talent fulltime, but if you embrace it and make it a part of your life your sense of self-worth will grow. That missing piece will no longer be missing anymore. You’ll feel more fulfilled as a result.

Discover your own talents and passions. They may be hiding behind those skills that you seemed to learn so easily. If so, let them out and being making them an integral part of your life.

This is a loaded question, but in a good way. Before you attempt to answer, use the scale of your dreams and goals to assist with the answer.

Don’t depend on outside “stuff” like the thoughts of others or the feelings of society. Be honest with yourself, after all only you are reading this and only you will know the answer.

At one time or another we have set goals. Goals give us a reason for getting up in the morning. We are always moving towards something that makes an impact on our life. If you are in college, graduation day represents a goal. It may be four years down the road, but it is still in sight.

When you find a job, the goal may change to one of promotion. We strive to be better than we are not because of others but because of our drive to do more than simply breathe the air.

Each person wants their time on this planet to mean something.

The meaning could be for us alone or for our families or the world.

What are some of your goals and dreams? If you’ve never taken the time to write them down, buy a journal and do just that. It could take more than one sitting if you are rusty at delving deep within your mind.

No matter how outrageous they seem, write ALL of your aspirations down. The culmination of dreams is not necessarily a lifelong career. You may want to scale a mountain, but that doesn’t mean you want to be a mountain climber. Scaling a mountain is an experience you’d like to have and fulfilling that adds a measure of character to your life.

You may not meet all of our goals. An unmet goal can leads us down a better path if we let it.

Take a good, long look at your goals and dreams list. Who knew you had so many desires. Life is not about pursuing one path and staying on it for the rest of your life. It is about the detours and rest stops we choose to take that turn us into well-rounded and understanding people.

Only you can answer the question, “Is Your Life Fulfilling?” No one knows your heart like you do. It is the question many long for someone else to answer for them, but you’ll soon realize that any answer another would give will be wrong because they are not you. You know you best. Use your goals and dreams as a guide to find the fulfillment you long for.

Find your passion and you will find your fulfillment!

Sometimes the simplest things we do have the most profound results. Find a quite place, quiet your brain until you can hear your soul… and let your soul speak to you.

I like to do this over several days, some times I find it takes me a long time to wind down. I am lucky enough to get to spend a week alone several times a year. I ALWAYS use this time to reconnect with my inner voice. Confirm that I am still happy with the direction I am going and nature myself.

One of my personal problems is that I just can’t relax until the dishes and vacuuming is done! So I spend the first few hours of quiet, getting the house in order.

Then I start nurturing myself, either a work out and a shower or a sappy chick-flick (that I can cry to) and a bubble bath. Often crying is the start of connecting… and then some sleep with no alarm.

Now I am ready to start thinking, meditating and journalling. Try creating these lists and see how they feel to you!

1) Make a list of your favorite things
2) Think about the things you enjoy doing the most
3) Close your eyes, think about what you like doing the most when you were a child

Inspired Actions

Now you have a list of some possible passions, now what do you do?

Now is the time to try some on, see how they feel! Do you get a cozy feeling, do you get a icky feeling, are you amped up? Use your feelings guide what you will try first.

1) Visit your local library, do some research
2) Ask your co-workers and friends to join you testing out some activities, friends make the adventure more enjoyable, take turns doing things that each person would like to test out.
3) Write your passion on your To Do list, yes schedule it in your day planner/calendar, if you don’t make it a priority who will?
4) Research the Internet, there is so much information available, books and articles to read, get advice from others
5) Take some classes and test some activities out, get your friends to take some classed with you, check out the local college for some Continuing Education Classes

Don’t rush, don’t worry.. just let your soul lead you to the right place, enjoy the experience of testing and trying things that delight you. You really can’t get it wrong!

Have fun, even if you try something you totally dislike, you have a great story to tell! Move on to the next thing.

How will you know when you find your passion?

When you lose track of time because you are having so much fun!

Now at the end of the book there some seal coaching questions… so I thought I would go through some of them and answer them here. I am not going to do them all though that would be much too long.

The book itself is pretty good, mostly concentrating on your mindset.

Q: What contributes to your current life Success?

A: Determination and support of my loved ones.

Q: What part does gratitude play in your daily actions and thoughts?

A: As often as I can I acknowledge my gratitude to the universe for all the amazing things in my life.

Q: At your core level of your soul what are you trying to accomplish in your life?

A: Soul level…. leave the world a better place because I was here

Q: Are you Happy with your current lifestyle? Why or why not?

A: Happy and grateful for my the life I have now! As Joe Vitale puts it… I am grateful with what I have, but I want more

Q: What do you do to renew or regenerate yourself?

A: every couple of months, I do a “spa day” sleeping in, taking care of me and spending time alone.

Q: What is your vision of yourself 5-10 years from now?

A: The short version of this is a highly successful multi-million dollar business!

Q: List two ideas that excite and motivate you?

A: Eco-Spiritual … a combination of spiritual fulfillment and earth preservation.

Q:What kind of work is play for you?

A: teaching & training

Q: What is the core purpose of your life?

A: teach others to follow their soul purpose

These are just a few of the thought provoking questions in the book

Are we trusting that the universe can handle our simple little requests… feeling happy or having a new car, these are simple requests compared to millions and millions of snowflakes falling in a given area at any given time.

our job, to think the thoughts, to feel the emotions, to paint a picture

the job of the universe, fill in the details, set in motion every little aspect that will create a amazing experience for us AND every other person on the planet that makes the request.

wow, I can’t even imagine being the event planner for just this minute, let alone the entire day!

I have spent the last 6 months on a quest, a quest to connect with my intuition, my higher self, my inner voice. I have read, I have listened, I have meditated. I have found that one of the easiest ways to hear what my connection is saying, is the cards. Each time I was at a book store, I just picked up a deck that I felt the impulse to buy. Then I spent time with each deck. I used to pick one card from each deck and display it on my book shelf.

Now though, I feel more connected to certain decks and I keep these right beside me on my desk. During time of contemplation I will shuffle the decks, allowing the swapping of energy. Ans when I feel the desire I will take a care and listen to the lesson it has for me.

Today’s card… the Universal Law of Free Will

So what does that mean to me, what is my lesson for today…

I am a firm believer in the ability to choose all actions, thoughts, reactions REGARDLESS of the circumstances of our lives. Grabbing hold of the responsibility of our life and choosing how we will conduct yourselves is what I feel separates us from the animals.

So many of us live a life of default, waiting for life to come to us… doing nothing, is MAKING a decision to do nothing. Yes, it is still a decision.

I believe that we have a responsibility as humans to take the life that has been given to us, to make a decision everyday that we will choose to live on our own terms!

What are you choosing today? are you living your passion? are you showing compassion? how are you making this world a better place because you were in it?

I love to spend at least 30 minutes in my day to just reading or meditating or walking at the beach, anything that just allows me to get really quiet and into myself to see better what is going on inside. Listening carefully really allows me to know how to make great decisions in my life.

Here are a few ideas on how to get a little quieter to here your inner self talking to you .

1. How To Live a Balanced Life?
The first step to a balanced life is to think about you and your needs. If you fall apart, you won’t be of any use to anyone. Selfishness is not defined by an inability to help others; it is the means by which you regenerate yourself by focusing on your own needs. Simple ordinary pleasures can make a world of difference in your life such as: a manicure, a day out with friends; a new outfit.

2. 12-Step Salute to the Sun
One of the all-around yoga exercises is the 12-step salute to the sun. Do it once or twice when you get up in the morning to help relieve stiffness and invigorate the body.

3. How to Make Wise Decisions
The good news is that making wise decisions is a matter of weighing the potential pros and cons of every available outcome. Below you’ll find a simple 3-step process to help you make wise decisions no matter what part of your life they may affect.

4. 9 Minutes to Sanity
It is 5:30am… you reach over and hit the snooze button, not wanting to move just yet, your partner snuggles a little closer. You now have 9 precious minutes…. do you go back to sleep or do you use them wisely to start your day on a most amazing high.

5. Serenity
Taking the time to de-stress and recharge your own soul will allow you to be able to nurture other relationships and make then stronger.

Have you had that experience when all of a sudden you just had this huge hunch that something is about to happen, and to your surprise, that intuition was eventually translated to reality?

When you feel strongly about something without logical basis to it, that’s called intuition. It comes in three impressions: clairvoyance or “the third eye”, sensing clearly and feeling through listening.

Clairvoyance is when your eye goes beyond what it can see. This is when you know what is happening somewhere.

Sensing clearly is basically what we refer to as “hunch” or “gut feel.” This is the time when you are overwhelmed with a feeling and you can’t explain it and all you can say is “I just know.”

On the other hand, feeling through listening or clairaudience is being able to “listen” between the lines. Intuition also happens at times when a certain sound, whatever it is – be it a car’s honk or a bird’s twitting – ushers in an intense feeling.

They say only a number of people are gifted with intuition. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive it almost borders on E.S.P. But studies have been sprouting left and right that proclaim that anyone can develop intuition.

Why the need to develop intuition, you ask? Why not let your emotional and psychological state as it is? First and foremost, intuition promotes good communication. It makes you more sensitive to the people around you; it often keeps you from hurting those you love because you are intuitive enough to understand them. Intuition also makes you far more creative than ever. Intuition means releasing more creative juices for any means of expression. Lastly, intuition has a healing power. This healing power is not in the physical sense, but in delving deep into your soul to eradicate some negative energy buried in it.

With that being said, are you ready to develop your intuition? Here are some ways to unlock this gift:

Photo by Stuck in Customs1. Hypnosis

Oh yes, get yourself hypnotized. Hypnosis is not limited to watching a pendulum move back and forth. Perform self-hypnosis or you can avail of hypnotic programs that can strengthen your intuition.

2. Meditation

Meditating means finding peace in yourself. If your mind and heart are cluttered with too many baggage and hurt, you wouldn’t be able to quiet down that part of you that could eventually initiate intuition. There are so many ways to meditate: take a yoga class, or just simply practice some breathing that could bring you straight to Zen.

3. Think positive!

A worry-free, fear-free state could do so much to improve your intuitive ability. By staying positive, you attract good energy that would be able to easily recognize imminent feelings and events.

4. Just let go.

What does this mean? If you are on the brink of making a huge decision, let go of all the inhibitions and head to a quiet place where you could find out where the letting go has brought you. Sometimes you just have to listen to the voice within you, and that voice wouldn’t come out unless you let go.

5. Never expect.

After letting go of the inhibitions and all those things that stop you from thinking and feeling clearly, never expect for an answer right away. Never expect that the “hunch” would fall on your lap immediately. Give it a little time then you’d just get surprised that — wham! — now you have your answer.

6. Believe in your first impressions.

When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.

See? All you need to be intuitive is to stay happy! Happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. In tapping your intuition, your motivation must be happiness and contentment. Given that premise, intuition will fall to you easily.

Intuition is helpful, because sometimes it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by intuition alone. Decisions are easier done if armed by this gift. Develop intuition now and reap benefits you have never imagined.

Life isn’t the sweetest candy. Sometimes, when I feel like the world is just too heavy, I look around and find people who continued to live fascinating and wonderful lives. And then thoughts come popping into my mind like bubbles from nowhere – “How did their life become so adorably sweet? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?” Then I pause and observed for awhile… I figured out that maybe, they start to work on a place called ‘self’.

So, how does one become genuinely happy? Step 1 is to love yourself.

My theology professor once said that “loving means accepting.” To love oneself means to accept that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections must lie a great ounce of courage to be able to discover ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes.

Genuine happiness also pertains to contentment. When you are contented with the job you have, the way you look, with your family, your friends, the place you live in, your car, and all the things you now have – truly, you know the answer to the question “how to be genuinely happy.”

When we discover a small start somewhere from within, that small start will eventually lead to something else, and to something else. But if you keep questioning life lit it has never done you any good, you will never be able to find genuine happiness.

I believe that life is about finding out about right and wrong, trying and failing, wining and losing. These are things that happen as often as you inhale and exhale. Failure, in a person’s life has become as abundant and necessary as air. But this should not hinder us from becoming happy.

How to be genuinely happy in spite all these? I tell you… every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, helping a friend, taking care of your sick dog, fail on board exams and trying again, life gives you equivalent points for that.

Imagine life as a big score board like those which are used in the NFLs. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Wouldn’t it be nice to look at that board at the end of each game and think to yourself “Whew! I got a point today. I’m glad I gave it a shot.”, instead of looking at it all blank and murmur “Geez, I didn’t even hit a score today. I wish I had the guts to try out. We could have won!” and then walk away.

Photo by Jeff KubinaGenuine happiness isn’t about driving the hottest Formula 1 car, nor getting the employee of the year award, earning the highest 13th month pay, or beating the sales quota. Sometimes, the most sought after prizes in life doesn’t always go to the fastest, the strongest, the bravest or not even the best. So, how do you become genuinely happy? Every one has his own definition of ‘happiness’. Happiness for a writer may mean launching as much best selling books as possible. Happiness for a basketball rookie may mean getting the rookie of the year award. Happiness for a beggar may mean a lot of money. Happiness for a business man may mean success. So, really now, how do we become genuinely happy? Simple. You don’t have to have the best things in this world. Its about doing and making the best out of every single thing. When you find yourself smiling at your own mistake and telling your self “Oh, I’ll do better next time”, you carry with you a flame of strong will power to persevere that may spread out like a brush fire. You possess a willingness to stand up again and try – that will make you a genuinely happy person.

When you learn to accept yourself and your own faults. You pass step 1 in the project “how to become genuinely happy”.For as long as you know how to accept others, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive love ten folds back.

Again, throw me that same question “how to become genuinely happy?”. I’ll refer you to a friend of mine who strongly quoted- “Most of us know that laughter is the best medicine to life’s aches and pain. But most of us don’t know that the best kind of laughter is laughter over self. Coz then you don’t just become happy… you become free.”

For me it is mornings. I purposefully wake up an hour before I need to be a wake. This allows me to take the time to getting up, I am not rushed, I get my 15-20 minute shower. I mean how often does that happen when you have teenagers in the house. I get to eat breakfast,
which we all know is the most important meal of the day. I can make lunch, saving my budget.

But most importantly I able able to spend 30 minutes in just being quiet. I am able to write in my journal, I am able to set my intention for the day. I can think about all the things and
people that I am grateful for in my life. I use visioning, where I sit and think about what my life is going to be like when all my goals have been reached, you know when I am a 101 sitting
in my rocking chair…

You may not be a morning person, or you may have small children, the time of day doesn’t really matter, but it is most important to the feeling you have each and every day. I wish there was a way that I could give you that feeling, just for one day. You would see and feel the value of your quiet time and you would make the effort everyday. Trust me everyone else in your life will appreciate is as much as you do.

Taking the time to de-stress and recharge your own soul will allow you to be able to nurture other relationships and make then stronger.

Step 1) Create an environment that will recharge you! – Everyone has there different happy place. Some are lucky enough to live where it is sunny all year and they can pick a hammock in the back yard.
Some have busy houses where finding just one chair in a quiet corner is enough. My personal favourite is a reading chair in the cornor of my office, I like the feeling of being in a big library surrounded by books, everyone knows that you need to be quiet in the library!

Photo by WisDocStep 2) Get comfy! – Make sure your chair is comfortable, dim the lights, turn up the lights, put on music, light some candles. Choose the things that add to your feeling of calm.

Step 3) Relax! – Sit in your chair, take a deep breathe. Allow all of your muscles to relax, think about each muscle and just focus on relaxing it, starting with your neck and shoulders, working your way down to your arms and legs. Start with 5 second breathing, count to 5 as you inhale, count to 5 as you exhale. Focus completely on your breathing. Allow thoughts to pass through your mind briefly, focus back to your breathing. After a couple minutes allow yourself to vision your most favourite spot, is it a warm white sandy beach, is the top of your favourite mountain retreat. And Just relax…

For me the practice of a Nurishing Morning Ritual has been a GREAT enhancement to mypersonal life. Each day I set the intention so each day goes exactly as I intent it to. You can take 15 mins to do this Morning Ritual or you can take an hour, whatever fits into your lifestyle.

I normally take 30 to 45 mins, I decide to get up a few minutes earlier each day so that I could really plan my day and spend time visiualizing my goals.
